Carthage was the first one that answered -- others had full voice mail boxes, didn't answer, or couldn't come for ten days. Their rep was at the unit in less than an hour, did a thorough inspection, assessed what the problems were (and in one case, weren't), turned off the gas, gave me a detailed cost estimate for repair, and his professional opinion that I would be better off replacing than repairing. When I showed him the model I proposed to buy, he recommended that I not buy that brand because while their electronic products have a great reputation, their appliances are not great. I called Carthage Appliance and the technician (and owner of the business) came the same afternoon. He was great! The dryer was a little weird in that it would heat some of the time but not all of the time. He tested it until he figured out the problem, had the parts with him (coils needed to be replaced), fixed it all within about 30 minutes.
